Occasional Rain is a consultancy serving individuals and organizations in the creative industries.

Or at least that was the plan at the beginning.

In the years since I started the business, I’ve focused more and more on working as an editorial collaborator, co-writer, and ghostwriter for interesting people who want to bring their stories to the world.

In this work, I draw on two decades of experience in media and publishing, which allows me to approach my editorial collaboration work as not only a writer, but also as a veteran editor and publisher, thereby offering clients a more comprehensive and supportive experience.

I still do a limited amount of consulting for writers looking for help developing ideas, shaping proposals, finessing manuscripts, or who just need support in navigating the always-confusing publishing industry.

I’ve had the immense pleasure of working with my friend Helen Tworkov and the world-renowned and New York Times–bestselling Tibetan meditation teacher Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche on Rinpoche’s new book, which will be published by Grand Central Balance in February 2027.
